Get off my god damn back!

So I´ve been having alot of pain recently, in my back, neck and shoulders. It started a few weeks ago but it all got worse after last nights show in Karlstad. Woke up today and our tour manager Zok was kind enough to hook me up with a chiropractor here in Umeå, Sweden. The result of the visit was not really what I wanted to hear: Inflamed - the entire back area. So to the pain I´m having - GET OFF MY GOD DAMN BACK!

Chris.

Food and Sweden.

27 March 2009

Hello sons and daughters!

Howlin Pelle back here. We are touring our way through Sweden before we haul it to Japan. Me and Vigilante have decided to use this time to tell you a little about swedish food and what is indigenous to the various cities. I bring you: The Howlin Pelle and Vigilante food guide to a few swedish cities.

Göteborg: After arriving by train to Gothenburg or Göteborg as it is called here we called our friend, ally and roadie Fredrik for a restaurant tip. Göteborg is famous for seafood so we were looking for some fine aquatic creatures to eat. Fredrik told us we should do what Keith(Richards) does and head to Fiskekrogen which is also conveniently close to the station. Once there we find it is indeed a fancy place for eating and digesting anything that dwells in the sea.

We start of with fresh shrimp in a traditional style with cheese, toast, two kinds of sauce and lemon. Since I myself have been a vegetarian for 16 years or so Vigilante will have to give me a small course in how to eat the little buggers. Once this is done it tastes pretty great. Kind of like eating seawater if that actually tasted good. More like a seabreeze maybe.

The main course we pick a fish each and it is really delicious. Dont know what more to say about it but dessert is a whole other level of special goodness! Cloudberries cooked in vanilla and elderberry mouse with some kind of citrus tasting cookie crumbs. Great fucking stuff altogether but very very expensive. However the tour is of to a good start.

Malmö: In Malmö the locals have gotten used to a very good local falafel climate since there has been so many falafel joints fighting for customers over the years with increasing quality and decreasing prices as a result. We finally settle on a place called Falafel No 1. Seems right. It is run by a family of 7 brothers who each have a place called Falafel No 1. I buy one big falafel and Vig two small ones. We aslo buy some extra stuff. Turkish yoghurt drink called aslan, feta cheese, spinach pide etc. and bring it all back to the venue for ingestion. Wouldnt you know it! Another delicious meal! Not Gothenburg but about 1/20 of the price.

Norrköping: Vigilante and me eat in different places. I have some delicious fresh baked sourdough with a filling of feta cheese creme, olives and cucumber. With this I have some french press coffee and a cinammon bun. All great stuff in Norrköping. Again not Gothenburg but a totally different affair altogether.

Karlstad: Today in Karlstad I had risotto at an Italian place that looked alright. It sucked. Just regular rice covered in some weird mushroom sauce. Terrible. I couldnt get anyone to tell me what was typically Karlstad and obviously italian aint it. Good thing I then got back to the venue to find some seriously tasty soy glaced salmon and pak choy cooked up by the chef at Nöjesfabriken. The weather is terrible too so thanks for the grub. Now we will commence to make like a stone and rock... or whatever.

Pax!

HPA coming your way.
