Story:
i have a "must see" list of musicians that i need to see before i die that includes the likes of James Brown, Queens of the Stone Age, and several other great acts. i am soo glad that i can now scratch The Hives off of that list and they did not disapoint. At the Staples Center, while opening up for Maroon 5, I had the "nose-bleed-seats" but because the show at Staples was so kick-ass i was almost unfazed by the lack of oxygen getting to my brain, that night. Pelle is such a great front-nan; add that to an already tight rhythem section and the outcome is pure punk rock bliss.i've been a fan of the Hives since their first album "Barely Leagal" came out all those years ago and always wanted to see them live. well, i can die a happier man now.

I'd heard of the Hives before, but never actually heard their music...

They opened for Maroon 5, and as good as Maroon 5 is, the Hives absolutely blew me away. The stage presence, the energy! The banter! Egads! I loved it. LOVED it. I am now a complete fan (not part of that wicked 5% that "refuses to like good music" as they put it).

I love you guys so much- please come back and perform in LA again soon...

Story:
Dear Hives fans around the world,
The day I saw/met The Hives was the best day of my frieken life. I got to La Zona Rosa (the venue) a couple hours early because my friend didn't have a ticket and we were determined to find one. As we arrived I saw a tour van and out steps Dr. Matt Destruction, we ran as fast as we could and shoof his hand. As if our day wasn't great already, we met the rest of the hives except for dear pelle and we also got signed posters and a free ticket from some random ladies. The show was the best I'd ever seen-life changing. Hives, thank you for changing my world.

OHHHHHHH..THANK THE SWEEDISH GODS FOR SENDING THE HIVES....THE NIGHT WAS NOT A TOTAL LOSS!!

I HAD SIGNED UP FOR THE HEADLINER BANDS FANSITE TO GET THE KILLER SEATS THAT I HAD. IT WAS MY DAUGHTERS FIRST CONCERT, WHEN I FOUND OUT THE HIVES WERE GOING TO OPEN I WAS EXCITED...

ONCE THE FIRST SONG WAS PLAYED, I KNEW THAT NO BAND, NO MATTER HOW MUCH I LIKED THEM, WAS GOING SURPASS THE LIVE, FANATIC, HEARTPOUNDING EXPERIENCE GOING ON BEFORE ME ON THIS STAGE...

I HAVE SEEN ALOT OF BANDS LIVE, BUT THE HIVES ARE BY FAR, THE BEST LIVE SHOW I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!

IF I DIDN'T HAVE KIDS, I MIGHT HAVE TO OBSESS ON THEM, AND FOLLOW THEM ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE!!!

I MUST HAVE THE HIVES AGAIN AND AGAIN!!

XOXO
MIMI

Basically, this was the first show since 3+ years that they've come to Los Angeles. It is a shame. It is TERRIBLE having to wait 3+ years for the Hives. But you guys are worth the wait. I was sitting in the front when Howlin' Pelle came out. I didn't know what to do. I was so nervous so I acted like a loser and just looked down. Ahh. Oh well. The show was absolutely amazing; just like I remembered and then some. Although I didn't know the lyrics to the new songs, they sounded really really really really really really really good. Howlin' Pelle stepped on my arm. It hurt. But I don't care. I am completely in LOVE again. My fanaticism was dormant but now it's aliveeee. ahhhhh Too bad I couldnt't you guys.

Come back soon, please?
