Where: The Phoenix

I was right at the front up against the railings.

I groveled a Nicholaus Arson.

He winked and threw me a pick.

I experienced The Hives, and lived to tell the tale.

i stopped by 102.1 the edge on my way home from work, and the hives were doing an interview , so i listened in, they asked if everybody was going to the show at the phoenix that night and everybody cheered and we said no, so pelle asked why we weren't going and we told him that the tix were sold out once we tried to buy them so they put us n their guest list! i can't believe that we almost missed that show. i have seen them 3 times and each time they blow me the fuck away. amazing. i love the hives

Well, I didn't get the fun opportunity to meet them (I wish I did though!)but I did get to see them in concert finally. It was fantastic. People in St. Paul needs to get their act together and figure out how great this band is! I'm originally from Florida and when they had their first break in 2001/2002, I was floored by the fact that they just straight played the music without all the extra overproduced electronic crap. The show they put on this past Monday (Oct. 1), was loud, exciting, and just fun to watch. The whole band was really into what they were doing (nice Mick Jagger walk by the way) and the drummer was equally theatrical. It was just fantastic to see one great band followed by another. Yeah, I'm a Maroon 5 fan but since I like music that actually sounds like music, it's all good. Just one suggestion. GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT THE HIVES HERE!!!! Can't wait for the new album. You finally made another one. Maybe next time I'll get to meet the band. I'm going to be a music teacher next year (ack!) and I would love to have a performer's prospective about their music and why they are the way they are. Sorry, just a music obsessed girl wanting to know more. Who better than The Hives! Hope the rest of the tour goes great!!!

I bought a last minute ticket to the Maroon 5 concert because my sister is a fan and she mentioned The Hives was the opening band and it rang a bell in me as if I have heard them before. A verizon commercial it was I believe. Although I felt like the only latina in the crowd along with my sister, I think I cheered more for the Hive then Maroon 5. They were good but The Hives....they perform with more beat. I became an instant fan.

I'm getting thier cd. GOOD JOB MUCHACHOS!!
