Another great Hives performance, VERY VERY Hot inside the metro. Was wondering what was up with Chris wrist. He was icing it between songs, hope he's ok. Keep killing it.

Where: Detroit

When: Summer 2004

Many years ago, when they played in the mid-west, I went to a concert at St. Andrews hall in Detroit. Got there 5 hours early and sat in a greasy little bar waiting for the concert to start. Inside, standing front and center, my friend and I got the air squeezed out of us for hours and actually saw Nick Arson fall over. Must not have had enough water. Anyways, he leaned over an amp, pointed at us, and simply said "clap", which we did of course. He shook our hands afterwards. We ended up with bruised ribs from the barrier at that concert. Best show I've ever been to, and I get to see them again for the first time in 3 years tonight.

Where: UK

I saw the Hives in Liverpool 2005, I was excited and ready for an amazing show.
My brother and I were waiting in line (close to the front) when all of a sudden security told everyone that they needed to be behind a barrier next to the wall! (Why? I don't think security even knew why).
With this everyone who had been there early enough to try and get close to the performance had lost there place in line.
When the doors opened we rushed in to secure our space, we luckily were able to get to the front.
The support acts were ok but the second seemed to last forever! this was a time for the Hives.
As I was getting ready to faint from the heat the Hives burst onto stage wearing black with white jackets and spats on their shoes.
With the opener 'Abra Cadaver' (perfect to open with).
The whole show was amazing, the atmosphere was electric and the crowd did not care that sweat was pouring from their skin.
At the end of the show I was able to collect all 3 plectrums and a drumstick. I was so amazed that I had to frame them all together with my concert ticket which remains on my wall to this day and for many years to come. Sadly I was unable to frame anything from Pelle (what could I have unless he gave me his neck tie... very unlikely).

I am going to see them again in Manchester england in Novemeber this year, I can't wait!
I wish I could meet them and have a photo or 2. You never know, dreams can come true :-D

My husband (James Parkin)knows how much of a fan i am and always takes great pleasure in telling me the story of when Dr.Destruction came round his house when they were kids on a football exchange and played for Sidley Rangers then back to Sweden to play for Vastanfors IF.

(And Agneta and Joran's great crayfish parties!)

Will try and find some photos in their football kit!
